Minister: Soekarna-Hatta Station to be Finished in June 2017

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi expressed his confidence that the construction of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport train station will be completed ion June 2017. Budi, together with State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno and Acting Jakarta Governor Sumarsono, were conducting a field inspection of the station construction from Sudirman station until Dukuh Atas station.
"We were looking at several ongoing constructions. According to plan, several stations will be completed in June 2017. Hopefully, it can be completed," Budi said at Dukuh Atas station.
Budi said that currently, there are a number of problems that must be addressed during the construction period. One of the problems, according to Minister Budi, was land acquisition. However, Budi said that all land-related issues will be resolved in just a few days. Budi added all lands needed for the station construction have been acquired.
Budi stated that the station will be operational immediately after construction works are finished. "If [constructions] are completed in June, we can start to operate it on July or August," Budi said.
