TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 151 households in Cililin subdistrict, West Bandung district have been evacuated after a landslide hit the area on Friday evening (10/3).
"To anticipate successive landslides in Cililin subdistcrict, 151 households were temporarily evacuated to a safe place," National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesperson Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said on Saturday (11/3).
Sutopo further stated that they are evacuated to Al-Huda mosque and Cililin Military Command dormitory until their residential areas are considered safe.
West Bandung Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) is currently closing the access to the affected residential area.
In addition, West Java BPBD has sent logistic aid through West Bandung BPBD, and they helped monitoring the landslide site by using drones.
The landslide damaged three houses and caused casualties, but none were killed.
Sutopo added that Cililin subdistrict is highly susceptible to landslides due to precipitous slopes, crumbly soil, and materials that can easily cause landslide when heavy rain pours.
The previous landslide happened in Jati Radio village, Cililin subdistrict on Friday (10/3).
