TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Tangerang District Administration targets its international standard sports stadium to be fully operational by December 2018. The Rp100 billion project will be able to hold 30,000 people at Bojong Nangka, Kelapa Dua District, and is constructed using Tangerang’s regional state budget (APBD).
“It will be fully operational by December 2018,” said Tangerang Regent, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar on Friday, March 10, 2017.
Zaki stated that the construction of the stadium and its facilities is currently on schedule. Their focus is to complete the construction as soon as possible so that it can be used for the Banten Province Sports Week that will be held in November 2018. “As we know, Tangerang District will be hosting the fifth Banten Province Sports Week,” he said.
The Tangerang District stadium is constructed on a 15 hectares of land that will be equipped with a 3,000 capacity sports building, a 1,000 capacity mini sports field (GOR), athletic track, baseball field, basketball court, a climbing wall, and other sports venues.
However, Zaki admitted that to complete the master plan, Tangerang District must acquire several blocks in its vicinity. “We will acquire it this year to make the area perfect. It’s ongoing.”
Tangerang District will also improve the accessibility to the stadium by widening Legok highway, which was originally under the authority of Banten Province but was handed to Tangerang District since the last two years. “We'll have the plan in 2017 and execute it in 2018,” Zaki said.
Spatial Planning and Building Department Head Taufik Emil stated that the construction is currently 30 percent complete. As for the budget, a Rp100 billion has been disbursed since the construction began in 2014. “The budget is enough and it won’t be added, this budget [will be used] until the project’s complete,” Taufik said.
Chairman of Tangerang District KONI, Komarudin, is optimistic that the construction will be complete on time. He says as many as 38 sports categories will compete at the 2018 Banten Province Sports Week and most of them will be held in the stadium.
