Police Plan GNPF MUI Chairman`s Questioning over Money Laundering

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Investigators of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) have planned to question the chairman of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Ulema Council’s Edict (GNPF MUI) Bachtiar Nasir as a witness in alleged money laundering by a foundation.
Bareskrim’s director for economic crime Brig. Gen. Agung Setya has confirmed it. “It’s true,” Agung said via a text message last night, as quoted by Antara.
According to Agung, Bachtiar is expected to attend the police station for questioning at 10 am today.
Agung, however, declined to reveal the name of the foundation.
