TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinator of the Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) Adnan Topan Husodo said that political dynasties have big potentials to lead to corruption.
"Since 2004, at least 350 regional leaders have been implicated in corruption cases. 78 of them were arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)," Adnan said in Jakarta on Saturday (7/1).
The last corruption case that was disclosed was on 30 December and the KPP arrested Klaten Regency Sri Hartini in a sting operation. Sri has also been named as suspect for receiving bribery.
Adnan added that politicians who grow in political dynasties tend to be corrupt compared to other politicians who grow without involving their relatives.
