TEMPO.CO, Mataram - The weather in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has gotten worse and will require a high level of alertness since it can potentially be a repeat of the extreme weather on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, that has caused 2-meter floods throughout the City of Bima city and its districts.

Head of the Meteorological Station at Bima’s Sultan Salahuddin Airport, Daryatno, said that rain has poured on a number of regions such as Kilo, Soromandi, Bima City, Wawo, Sape, and Lambu.

“Be wary of the growing clouds. It is similar to the weather on Wednesday,” Daryatno said Thursday, December 23, 2016.

Hotel Managements in Mataram have gathered clothes, towels, and other daily needs at the office of the Department of Culture and Tourism, West Nusa Tenggara, to assist the flood victims.

Head of Hotel General Manager Association, Erik Ramadan Tumbelaka, says that they gathered the aid from 70 associate members.

The aid will be sent to flood victims in Bima via truck.

State employees of West Nusa Tenggara regional government also gathered a Rp32,967,500 donation. “This is a program [called] empty your wallet for alms,” says the NTB Regional Secretary Bart Rosidy Sayuti.
