TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesia Slot Coordinator Hemi Pamuhadjo said that in an effort to increase connectivity of national transportation, the number of national airlines at the Soekarno-Hatta international airport would be increased.
He said that the ratio would be 70:30, bigger than foreign airlines.
"We want to develop and optimize domestic flights in order to increase connectivity,” Hemi told Tempo, Friday, June 27, 2014.
Hemi also said that his team was still processing the request from several airlines.
On 26 July 2014, he said that he would have a meeting with State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) and the Indonesian Flight Navigation Service Organizer Bodies (LPPNI) concerning the sharing of flight slots.
"We propose that the ratio would be 70:30 or 65:35," Hemi said.
He added that almost all national and foreign airlines have asked for additional slots at the airport. However, he said that the team was still deciding the priority scale based on the requests and opportunities to explore the markets by each airline.
"For example, several airlines that have already had more than 10 slot would not prioritized; rather, we would prioritize those that only have less than five slots,” he added.
Hemi also said if between 5am until 10am there are 30 flight slots left , then 65 or 70 percent would be used for domestic airlines while 35 or 30 percent would be allocated for foreign airlines.
