TEMPO.CO, Bogor - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked all stakeholders to support the upcoming presidential election, saying that it has to resemble the 2004 and 2009 election, and the more recent legislative legislative election. "The world has acknowledged and appreciated our general election, claiming it to be a peaceful, fair, and democratic," said SBY.
SBY also expected all national elements to accommodate the election as an effort to establish a new historical milestione in Indonesia's democratic process. "[...] Let us ensure that the general election is peaceful and democratic," he said.
Moreover, SBY said that there have been a number of lessons learnt from the previous elections. "Let us maintain the good achievements and improve the lesser achievements," said SBY, referring to the numbers of electoral violations in the previous elections. SBY also said that all parties must look up to the existing electoral regulations, as well as the constitution and its implementing regulations.
