TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nearing the end of 2018, many villa and hostel owners and management in the area of Puncak-Cianjur, West Java, have increased its tariff by 100 percent compared to the usual tariff outside of a peak season.
According to Ujang Dedi, a local villa caretaker in Sukatani, his villa has been booked by six tenants in the last week alone. “We are trusted to manage dozens of villas, and nearing year’s end, orders are starting to arrive. We increased the prices by 100 percent compared to regular holidays,” said Ujang on Monday, Nov. 26.
Ujang’s experience is shared by other villa managements that are receiving orders from Jakarta residents that intend to spend their remaining 2018 at one of the popular tourist destinations in West Java.
According to him, twin room villas are opened at a price of Rp2 million per night, meanwhile, villas with four rooms are rented for Rp4 million per night. Villas that are equipped with swimming pools are rented at an even higher price of Rp5 million per night.
Ujang’s statement was echoed by Oleh (56) who owns villas and hostels in the Cipanas subdistrict. He revealed that out of 8 hostels and 11 villas, only four units are still yet to be booked for the year’s end holiday season.
