TEMPO.CO, Banda Aceh - The acting head of Aceh Tourism and Culture Agency Amiruddin said the condition of Aceh Tsunami Museum was currently concerning. “So, we plan to renovate the tourist site totally in 2019,” said Amiruddin in Banda Aceh, on Friday, November 23.

However, he stopped short to detail the renovation plan. He mentioned the Aceh administration through his agency would set the retribution tariff to enter the Tsunami Museum starting December 2018 or January 2019.

“The retribution application is based on the regional regulation or Qanun No. 2 of 2016 on the amendment to Qanun Aceh No. 2 of 2014 on retribution of business service,” said Amiruddin.

He explained the entrance fee would be priced at Rp3,000 for an adult, Rp2,000 for a child/student, while for foreign tourist at Rp10,000 per person. According to Amiruddin, the retribution fee aimed to increase the regional income.

Tsunami Museum was an asset of Aceh provincial government that previously managed by Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry. “Since May 2018, Aceh administration took over the management,” Amiruddin noted.

He continued to say that the tourist arrival in regular days recorded up to 3,000 people per day, while during the weekend, it reached 16,000 visitors. Aceh Tsunami Museum is opened from 9 a.m until 4 p.m local times.
