TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Deputy Chairman of the Honorary Board (BKD) of Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Syarifuddin defended his colleague, Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD Prasetio Edi Marsudi, who was called by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to often conduct work visits outside Jakarta.

“As far as I know, Pak Prasetio, his work visits can be counted on fingers. He does not want to be invited to conduct work visit,” Syarifuddin said at the DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 14.

According to him, Prasetio often received guests who are in comparative studies in Jakarta. “He likes to stay because of the visit by guests,” said Syarifuddin.

Anies Baswedan criticized Prasetio for not knowing the current condition in Jakarta. “Too often to conduct work visits, he forgets about Jakarta. Later, he will become a member of the Regional Legislative Council,” Anies said, Tuesday, November 13.

Anies’s statement was to answer Prasetio’s criticism that said the President Joko Widodo or Jokowi did not want to bring foreign guests to Tanah Abang Market because of the slums.

Anies was surprised. Because he did not know Jokowi had canceled in bringing foreign guests to Tanah Abang Market lately.

“Are there guests (foreign) coming? Ask him (Prasetio), when did he (Jokowi) cancel the visit?” said Anies Baswedan.
