TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Banten Province Inspectorate Head Kusmayadi said today he would visit to examine the Principal of SMAN 6 Tangerang Regency Usep Kusmara and his deputy, Sonia a treasurer, and the officers suspected of carrying out illegal levy.

“We will examine them in Serang on Thursday. Further examination will eventually lead to sanctions,” Kusmayadi said, Wednesday, September 5.

Although Banten Provincial Administration has freed the school fees to the level of high school/vocational school in Banten, there is still illegal levy.

Kusmayadi said the illegal levy violated the employee discipline. “Regarding sanctions, wait after the inspection,” Kusmayadi said.

According to Kusmayadi, after the examination, his party would help to return the Rp17.4 million to the alumni who had taken the diploma.

Kusmayadi said the Inspectorate had also asked the school to stop the payment of tuition fees. But the SMAN 6 party still charge it to the students.

“The money that has been collected from the tuition fees is worth Rp4 billion and it was already used,” said Kusmayadi.

Banten Governor Wahidin Halim stated that in 2018 Banten Provincial Administration had freed the high school/vocational school fees.

“We are ashamed to the city and regency that has freed the tuition fees, [we felt] sorry for the children of state employees who are in high school/vocational school who still have to pay,” said Wahidin.

To prevent the illegal levy, starting in 2018 the Banten Provincial Administration freed the tuition fees. “It’s a form of attention to the people,” said Wahidin.
