LRT Train Sets Arrive in Palembang Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Light Rail Transit (LRT) train sets delivered by PT Industri Kereta Api (PT INKA) have arrived at Boom Baru Palembang Port, South Sumatra on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018.

Regional Secretary of the South Sumatra Provincial Government Nasrun Umar, said that the trains arrived on schedule, while the remaining six sets of trains will arrive in June 2018.

"Thank God the train set has arrived. It has been a precious moment during the LRT construction since the project development in November 2016. The plan, the train set will be launched before it is installed," Umar said on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Umar said the launching event for the trains will be held on April 20, 2018, which will be attended by the Minister of Transportation and a number of director-general from a number of ministries.

"We hope the work of South Sumatra LRT is no longer a problem so that the trial in June can be implemented," Umar said.
