Police Arrest 36 Drug Dealers in Two Weeks of Operation in Bekasi

TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - Bekasi Police have arrested 36 suspects of drug dealers during operation for social problems (pekat) from July 26 to August 9. Three suspects are recidivists of the same case.
Bekasi Police chief deputy Adj. Comr. Widjonarkosaid that the suspects were arrested in 10 areas, among others Apartemen Center Point (South Bekasi), Rawamulya Street (Mustikajaya), Summarecon Mall Bekasi, Kranji (West Bekasi), and Jatiranggong (Jatisampurna).

The Police also apprehended suspects of drug dealers in Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium (South Bekasi), around a karaoke place in South Bekasi, and Pekayon Jaya. "We confiscated 47 kg of marijuana, 65 gr of crystal methamphetamine, and two pills of ecstasy," Widjonarko said on Friday, August 11.
Widjonarko explained that the majority of the suspects are local drug dealers and recidivists of the same case. The suspects are now locked up in the cells of Bekasi Police station. They will be brought to trial based on Narcotics Law with a maximum sentence of 20 years of imprisonment.
