TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Antasari Azhar, arrived at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. Antasari revealed a meeting that took place between himself and the CEO of MNC Group Harry Tanoe, who was sent by the sixth Indonesian President, Susilo "SBY" Bambang Yudhoyono, in order to persuade Antasari to not arrest the Bank Indonesia Deputy Aulia Pohan on March 2009.
"I called out to Bapak Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, be honest. [SBY] knows about my case. He ordered someone to manipulate and criminalize me," said Antasari who arrived at the Bareskrim together with Andi Syamsuddin Zulkarnaen.
Andi Syamsuddin is the younger brother of Nasrudin Zulkarnaen, President of PT Rajawali Putra Banjaran who were shot back in 2009. Antasari, who were serving as the Chairman of KPK at that time, was blamed for the murder and was charged with 18 years of imprisonment.
Syamsuddin brought a number of documents and wanted to file a report about a threat he had received through a text message sent to his brother before he was shot.
Antasari was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment in 2009 for being guilty of planning the murder of Nasrudin Zulkarnaen. However, a few days after the murder, Nasrudin's family went to defend Antasari, claiming that Antasari was not the mastermind behind the murder.
