Jakarta DPRD Continues to Support Reclamation Project Termination

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta Regional Council (DPRD) Mohamad Taufik asserted that the DRPD remains with its stance to support the termination of the reclamation project in the Jakarta Bay.
“It is clear that the DPRD supports the decision. Besides, if the Central Government says to stop the project, we have to stop it,” Taufik said in South Jakarta on Saturday (21/5).
Taufik added that the members of the DPRD have agreed to also stop the deliberation of the draft of the regional law on the reclamation.
According to him, the DPRD does not the draft of the regional law be used to justify actions that are against the law committed by the Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.
Taufik considered that Basuki has committed many violations in the reclamation project and said that Basuki tends to be adamant in implementing the project.
