TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park has managed to exceed its target of visitors in the period of December 19, 2015-January 3, 2016. By December 27, 2015, the number of visitors had reached 511,000 people.

“We set a target because the period coincided with school holidays,” TMII spokesperson Jerry said on Saturday, January 2, 2016.

Jerry added that the TMII also set a target to attract 5 million visitors by improving and adding its rides. Jerry explained that there were two new attractions at the TMII this year, namely the Taman Among Putro Skywar Indonesia and the Taman Legenda Keong Mas.

“The Taman Among Putro features space-themed rides, such as Planetarium,” Jerry explained.

Meanwhile, Jerry said that the Taman Keong Mas featured the Mata Legenda (Legend Eye) ride and the Bianglala ride like that in Dunia Fantasi (Dufan).

According to Jerry, the number of visitors on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 3 p.m. had reached 48,793 people. In addition, the TMII recorded 56 buses, 4,818 cars and 5,527 motorcycles entering the cultural park. Meanwhile during the New Year holiday, the number of visitors hit 89,000 people.
