TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Ministry stated that Cikopo-Palimanan toll road has contributed in dispersing traffic during Eid homecoming this year. Yudhi Sari Sitompul, Head of the national post of Joint Eid Transportation 2015, said that personal vehicle homecoming trend is increasing. However, he said that traffic in Pantura and Nagrek are not as jammed as last year.
"Traffic is only at Palimanan exit, Cikopo entrance, Pejagan exit, and East Brebes exit. I think Cipali toll road has been able to reduce traffic in some spots," he said.
The post also noted that homecoming streams from Jabodetabek using personal vehicle increased 99.2 percent, compared to last year. From Eid D-15 to D+2, there were 3.509 million units compared to last year’s 1.76 million units.
Moreover, Yudhi said that another factor is early homecoming, in which people have started leaving Jakarta 15 days before Eid. “The weight is far more distributed, amid an increase in vehicle number,” he said.
