Ancol to Have New Theme Park

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol is constructing its newly-reclaimed island that is located in Ancol beach. The company’s Recreational Area Development Director, Teuku Sahir said the construction was started in the late 2014 and is projected to complete in 2016.
“This is for K Island, it is 32-hectare large,” Teuku Sahir said at Bentar Temple, Putri Duyung Ancol on Monday.
After finishing with the island construction, the company will build new theme park as large as 16 hectares.
“It will complete in June 2018 with total project value of Rp2 trillion,” Sahir added.
“Now, the construction of the dam has so far cost Rp200 billion.”
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Managing Director, Gatot Setyo Waluyo added that there are three other islands on the list for construction, namely ‘I’,’J’, and ‘L’ islands. However, he said that the company is currently focusing on ‘K’ Island.
“Singapore has Universal Studio, Indonesia will have one too,” Gatot confidently said.
