BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to Launch Subsidiary Next Month

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Social Security Management Agency’s occupational health division (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) is forming a subsidiary that will engage in project financing; a joint-venture with The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD).

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is targeting the subsidiary, called Indonesia Investment Company, to be launched in February this year. The agency will have 51% stake in the subsidiary, placing a capital of Rp510 billion.

The corporate act was decided upon to support the agency's target to manage Rp500 trillion in investment funds by 2018, pooling investments from 45.3 million formal sector participants.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan president director Elvyn G. Masassya said the agency is currently selecting candidates to be posted in the new subsidiary's board of directors.
