Mandiri Adds Year-end Cash Supply

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Mandiri is preparing Rp15.7 trillion in cash to meet customers' need during Christmas and year-end weeks. "The cash distribution is prioritized for December until January," Mandiri corporate secretary Rohan Hafas said yesterday.
Bank Mandiri, Rohan said, also will increase the supply of money its ATMs by Rp1.65 trillion per day—a 19-percent increase of compared to normal days—starting from 10 days before Christmas
Bank Indonesia estimated that the cash need for December 2014 will reach Rp2.8 trillion following the public's increasing need for Christmas and New Year. "It will increase by 22 percent compared to December 2013," said BI chief representative for Region IX, Difi A. Johansyah told Antara last weekend.
