TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Acting Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama bans Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) recipients to receive Indonesian Smart Card (KIP).
Ahok asked President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo not to distribute KIP in Jakarta and advised him to prioritize other regions. "Other regions first. Jakarta has a lot of money," said Ahok.
Jakarta Education Agency chief Lasro Marbun appreciated the realization of KIP. "We welcome the move because Jokowi was the one who proposed the KJP and KJS (Jakarta Health Card). The proposal is brought to national-level because it is complementary," he said.
Lasro explained that the management of KJP and KIP distribution would not be merged. "There's a separation in who are KJP's targets and who are KIP's targets, but [both cards] will support each other," he said.
