TEMPO.CO, Bogor – State gas company Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) aims to boost the development of gas infrastructure to increase gas consumption. One way to achieve the target is by constructing gas refueling station (SPBGs) in fuel oil refueling stations (SPBUs).
This method can increase the number of SPBGs quickly, says PGN spokesman Irwan Andri Atmanto. According to Irwan, by piggybacking on existing fuel oil stations, SPBG constructions will no longer have to deal with land constraints. In addition, this type of construction is more economical.
As a comparison, the cost of constructing one unit of SPBGs ranges between Rp20 billion to Rp30 billion, excluding the cost of land purchase.
Irwan said the plan is still a proposal. To date, PGN has yet to have an official discussion about the suggestion with fuel pump managers.
