TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chelsea is now on top of Premier League, after defeating Burnley 3-1 in the first match of the season.
Playing in away ground Turf Moor, Chelsea conceded a goal 14 minutes in the first half. Yet four minutes after, Chelsea new recruit Diego Costa equalized the scoreline.
Not long after Costa’s equalizer, German winger Andre Schurrle scored another goal, after receiving a decent pass from another new recruit Cesc Fabregas. Defender Branislav Ivanovic caught up in the 34th with a goal to put Chelsea 3-1 ahead of the promoted team.
No more goals were scored in the second half, despite ferocious attempt from Chelsea returning goal-machine Didier Drogba, making his way from the bench.
The winning put Chelsea on top of the standings, collecting more goal aggregate compared to other teams. Needless to say, Jose Mourinho’s squad is off for a good start, compared to the other top four Premier League teams.
