TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Central posted a net profit increase of 24.2 percent in the first half of 2014. "Profit increased to Rp7.9 trillion from Rp6.3 trillion in the same period the previous year," said BCA president director Jahja Setiaatmadja said in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 23.
BCA's operating income also grew 25 percent, year-on-year, from Rp15.7 trillion to Rp19.6 trillion.
Jahja said that in the midst of a period of economic uncertainty, BCA continues to show resilience and ability in adapting to situations that come with a variety of challenges.
The bank's net interest margin (NIM) increased 50 bps to 6.5 percent from 6.0 percent in the first half of 2013. Jahja said the NIM growth represents a high yield of productive assets, with an increase in loan portfolio.
BCA's credit portfolio was up by 14.6 percent (yoy) to Rp321.3 trillion, while corporate loans stood at Rp 106.4 trillion, up 16.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
