TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta is set to hold an animal parade tomorrow, starting 10 a.m. "We’re going to display hundreds of animals directly to the visitors," said Ragunan Public Relations Division Head, Wahyudi Bambang, yesterday.
Three elephants, three ponies, and hundreds of birds and reptiles will enliven the parade.
According to Wahyudi, visitors normally love such parade as they will be able to see the animals more closely and can take pictures with them.
The event is expected to increase the number of visitors to the zoo during the weekend, which usually sees around 20,000 visitors.
For the record, on Friday this week, which was the beginning of the long weekend that coincides with Easter holiday, the zoo recorded 21,253 visitors.
"We expect that the peak will be on Sunday with the estimation of around 60,000 visitors," said Wahyudi.
In addition to the parade, Wahyudi added, visitors would also be attracted to a zoo tour using a train-like vehicle, displaying animals such as elephants and camels.
