TEMPO.CO, San Antonio - Tim Duncan’s bright performance has led San Antonio Spurs to victory over Miami Heat with 111-87 in the rematch of the two NBA finalists from last season, at the AT&T Center, Texas on Thursday.
The victory is a sweet revenge for Spurs as they were defeated by El Heat at the final of last season when the Heat acquired their second consecutive league title. During the emotional rematch, the 37-year-old scored 23 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and one block. He won the most valuable player (MVP) at the end of the game. The Spurs have now won 13 of their last 15 regular season games against the Heat at home.
"We needed a game like this," said Spurs’ Manu Gobili as quote by ESPN. "We've been talking (about it) all season long. Our record was probably 1-10, 1-8 or something like that against the top four teams in the league. So we needed a big one, and today we played well. It's one of those wins that really get you going."
San Antonio will host the Orlando Magic today on this homestand, then visit Chicago on Tuesday.
