TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Metro Mini bus number T-53 with Kampung Melayu-Kampung Rambutan route has hit three motorcycles that were stopping at a red traffic light on Otista – Dewi Sartika Road, Cawang Kompor, East Jakarta. It is suspected that the bus had a brake failure.

However, during the red light, the bus immediately hit his motor and other two drivers. The three motorcycles, which were Blue Yamaha Mio B-6537-SPE, Red Honda CB 400 D-2409-AD and Honda Beat B-9654-SZF, were damaged. One of the drivers, Ismail, even bounced off.
"The one who bounced off was my younger brother. He was hurt on his leg and shoulder. He could not use his right leg to walk as well," he said, Sunday, January 26.
He said the bus driver made an excuse for the incident by saying that it was caused by a brake failure. "His excuse was a brake failure, but I didn’t believe him. If it was, it shouldn’t stop after it hit people," he said.
According to Damar, the other victim, the bus purposely sped up to make it through the traffic light that was already red. As it did not make it, the driver could not control his car and in the end hit the motorcycles. The bus and victims' motorcycles have been secured by the Jatinegara Police.
