TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The deadly accident that involved a Commuter Line train and a Pertamina gasoline tank truck at a railroad crossing in Bintaro on December 9, 2013 has claimed another casualty. Sri Endayani (61) has died after receiving treatment for more than a month.
"I can confirm that Ms. Sri Endayanani has died," said Eva Chairunisa, Public Manager of city train operator PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek to Tempo yesterday.
Sri, the wife of Senior Officer (ret) of the Indonesian Air Force, Col. Agus Hendrayanto, passed away yesterday at around 10:40 a.m at the HCU of Premier Bintaro hospital.
Sri died after suffering third-degree burn. "We will provide compensation and take care of the funeral," Eva said.
The body has been taken to her house at Taman Puri Bintaro and is expected to be laid to rest at Tanah Kusir public cemetery, South Jakarta.
The deadly accident has caused seven people dead and injured dozen others. Police have been investigating the cause of the accident. It was alleged that the accident took place when a Pertamina gasoline tank truck crossed a railroad crossing in Bintaro and suddenly crashed into the passing train from Serpong heading to Tanah Abang.
