Majority of Jakarta to Rain This Afternoon, Says BMKG

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency or BMKG forecasts that Jakarta will be greeted by cloudy skies this Thursday morning, April 18, 2024. The weather forecast agency reported that light to medium rain will fall in most parts of Jakarta this afternoon.

According to BMKG, almost the entirety of Jakarta has been cloudy since early this morning. Only North Jakarta and the Seribu Islands are greeted by some light rains.

Approaching 01:00 p.m., South Jakarta and East Jakarta will have their turns for the drizzle, while other areas will be cloudy. Rain is forecasted to fall evenly in the evening, except for a cloudy Seribu Islands. South Jakarta will have bigger downpours compared to other cities in the region.

BMKG recorded air temperatures ranging from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius in Jakarta. The air humidity is around 70 to 95 percent. Winds generally blow from northeast to southeast at a speed of 5 to 15 kilometers per hour.

Data on the official BMKG website shows the potential for rain in the buffer cities of Jakarta. Cikarang has the potential for rain this afternoon with the temperature ranging from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius. Rainfall will also pour over Bogor and Depok from the morning to afternoon.
