Eid Return Flow; KAI Adds More Yogyakarta-Gambir Trips

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) augmented its train services for the Yogyakarta-Gambir route during the return flow of Eid homecoming, scheduled to run from April 16 to 18 for the Yogyakarta-Gambir route and from April 17 to 19 for the Gambir-Yogyakarta route.
The additional trains have been scheduled to depart from Yogyakarta Station at 23:40 and are expected to arrive at Gambir Station at 07:10. Meanwhile, the additional trains for the Gambir-Yogyakarta route are scheduled to depart from Gambir Station at 12:45 and arrive at Yogyakarta Station at 20:25.
Joni Martinus, KAI Public Relations VP, stated that more trains will be mobilized in a bid to accommodate travelers who have yet to secure their tickets on their favorite route from Yogyakarta to Jakarta and vice versa. Tickets for the additional train trips will be available starting Sunday, April 14.
“Tickets can be purchased through the Access by KAI application and all other train ticket sales channels,” Joni said in a written statement on Monday, April 15. People could also buy tickets at the station three hours before train departure.
“The additional trains will serve executive and economy classes,” he added. The train series will consist of five executive trains and five economy trains with new-generation stainless steel.
“The additional train trips are part of KAI's commitment to realizing a meaningful and joyful homecoming during the Eid transport period,” he said, stressing that information on the additional trains for the Yogyakarta-Gambir route can be accessed via social media KAI121 and the KAI's contact service at 121.
