TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Running pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md argued before the court that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi had committed structured, systematic, and massive fraud in the 2024 elections. The General Elections Commission or KPU responded to the argument.
KPU Attorney Hifdzil Alim said that the report delivered by Ganjar-Mahfud postulates that there was coordinated abuse of power by Jokowi and his administration during the election.
Hifdzil argued at the Constitutional Court hearing today that “the president is not a participant in the election and is not a disputing party in this case".
Thus, he considered that the argument brought by Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md was inappropriate and misdirected because it is unrelated to KPU as the respondent.
The Constitutional Court held a hearing on the presidential election dispute today. The hearing began at 1 p.m. local time, with the agenda of examining KPU’s answers to Ganjar-Mahfud’s submission as the respondent, Bawaslu as the witness, and the Prabowo-Gibran Defense Team as the related party.
From the applicant's side, Todung Mulya Lubis, Head of the Ganjar-Mahfud Legal Team, and his staff were seen. There was also the head of the AMIN National Legal Team, Ari Yusuf Amir.
On the respondent side, KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari was present. Also present were several KPU Commissioners, including Auguzt Mellaz, Idham Holik, Betty Epsilon Idroos, Mochammad Afifuddin, and others.
The Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja sat on a chair in the courtroom. Meanwhile, from the testifying side, there were several members of the Prabowo-Gibran Defense Team such as Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Otto Hasibuan, and others.
