BMKG Forecasts Rain to Greet Greater Jakarta in Early March

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a weather forecast for Greater Jakarta today, March 1. It was stated that light rain will drizzle over the capital city in the morning until the afternoon, except for the Thousand Islands which is predicted to be overcast.
As evening approaches, thick, gloomy clouds will loom over the city, except for East Jakarta, which will continue to be drenched by moderate-intensity rain.
The agency has also cautioned Jakartans of rainy weather during the early hours of the morning throughout the city, except for the Thousand Islands, which are likely to be hit by heavy rain and lightning.
Weather Forecast for Jakarta’s Neighbors
Bekasi, Cibinong, Depok, and Bogor City areas are expected to experience an overcast morning and light rain this afternoon and evening, except Bekasi which will remain dull tonight.
The agency also issued an early warning of thunderstorms in these areas between the afternoon and evening.
The same weather prediction applies to Greater Tangerang, with a cloudy morning and light rain in the afternoon and evening.
The early warning was issued especially for the central and southern areas of Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang City. “Beware of the possibility of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds,” the BMKG announced, as quoted from its website.
