Ganjar Pranowo Says Regional Head Pushed Not to Support Him

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo claimed that he received reports from regional heads regarding intervention to not support him in the upcoming presidential election. He stressed that he would fight such intimidation in a constitutional manner.
“Report if there is oppression, report if someone makes intimidation,” Ganjar said in his speech at the Hajatan Rakyat or People's Celebration event in Makassar on Tuesday, January 30.
The former governor of Central Java said that it would be better for democracy to be based on ideas and a contest of ideas. Thus, let the political contest be filled with intelligence.
“Let the people properly determine their choices and preferences. So the public can see the ideas [of the candidates] and how they can be realized,” Ganjar added.
He hoped that the public would not be afraid of such intervention. If there is any intimidation, he encouraged them to report it immediately to the Ganjar-Mahfud campaign team.
During the event in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Ganjar Pranowo was honored with a traditional headband, Passapu or Patonro. Therefore, he stated that he would uphold the regulations in the interest of the nation and state despite various challenges and setbacks to democracy.
