TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK will invite the three running pairs of presidential candidates to battle their anti-corruption ideas this evening, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 07:00-09:30 p.m. local time.
Tempo found that the running candidates; Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md have confirmed their attendance.
The presidential candidates will be given a chance to present their ideas and strategies for corruption eradication during the event, dubbed Strengthening Anti-Corruption Program for Organizers with Integrity (PAKU Integritas).
"We will give each pair a chance to present their vision and mission, ideas, or concept of corruption eradication," said the acting spokesperson of the prevention division of KPK Ipi Maryati on Monday.
According to Ipi, the forum will not be formatted as a debate since the purpose is to boost the integrity of Indonesia's next state leaders.
During the forum, KPK will also present the most recent corruption data and information. "We will provide updates on corruption eradication in Indonesia to ensure the same understanding on the topic," Ipi said.
In addition, KPK chief deputy Alexander Marwata said the running candidates will sign an integrity pact by the end of the forum. "To remind them [if elected] that they had once signed an integrity pact," he said on Thursday, January 11.
Alex also said that KPK will deliver remarks on state officials' commitment to submit their wealth to the State Officials Wealth Report or LHKPN.
Citing the Anti-Corruption Education Center, Paku Integritas is an educational forum to communicate, discuss, and consult on various up-to-date knowledge on corruption to strengthen anti-corruption commitment and the integrity of state officials concerning education and corruption prevention.
