French Open 2023: Indonesia Secures Win with Jonatan Christie

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia secured a title at the 2023 French Open in Rennes this Sunday after Jonatan Christie beat Chinese athlete Li Shi Feng in men's single.
The Indonesian athlete came through after losing his first game 16-21 in China's favor, raising his game in the second and third games resulting in 21-15 and 21-14 victories over the Chinese player.
Meanwhile, Indonesian men's doubles athletes Muhammad Shohibul FIkri / Bagas Maulana failed to secure Indonesia's second title after losing to Denmark's Kim Astrup / Anders Skaarp Rasmussen. Fikri-Bagas lost with final scores of 14-21 21-10, and 18-21 in Denmark's favor.

At this year's French Open, China walked away with the most titles after sending four of its representatives to four finals and won three of them. China won mixed doubles, women's singles, and women's doubles.
China's first title was secured by Jiang Zhen Bang / Wei Ya Xin for mixed doubles after beating Hong Kong's pair Tang Chun Man / Tse Ying Suet with final scores of 21-15, 15-21, 21-12.
The Chinese also came on strong at women's single with Chen Yu Fei who won 21-17, 22-20 over Taiwanese athlete Tai Tzu Ying. They also won the last game of the day, women's doubles over Thailand. Chinese pair Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning won 26-24, 21-19 over Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai.
