Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan Officiates National Crypto Exchange Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan inaugurated the launch of the national crypto exchange, Commodity Future Exchange (CFX) on Friday, July 28, 2023. 

"Today I officiates PT Bursa Komoditi Nusantara (CFX) as a new cryptocurrency exchange in Indonesia," said Zulkifli in a press conference during the launch of CFX in South Jakarta today, on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Previously in the middle of July, the Futures and Commodity Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) appointed PT Bursa Komoditi Nusantara as the crypto asset future exchange, PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia as the clearing house, and PT Tennet Depository Indonesia which will manage the crypto asset storage. 

"The existence of crypto exchange, clearing house, and asset storage management will create a more transparent, effective, and just transaction of crypto assets," Minister Zulkifli said. Thus, he believed that the cryptocurrency industry in Indonesia will proceed smoothly and could contribute to the economy through the state revenue.

Meanwhile, the President Director of CFX, Subani, said that the company will do its responsibility as instructed by the government. He mentioned that airtight regulation is necessary to maintain the crypto ecosystem for the industry and crypto users.

"Recalling the process of establishing the crypto exchange. We are committed to being transparent and maintaining the transaction's security, and CFX will educate the public to better the crypto products and crypto literacy in Indonesia," he said.
