UI Teams to Enroll at Shell Eco-Marathon Using Eco-friendly Tires

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Nakoela and Aruna Teams from the University of Indonesia, or UI, are ready to compete at the Shell Eco-Marathon 2023 on July 4-9, at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok. This year, the UI teams will use environmentally friendly tires, IRC reported.
The Nakoela and Arjuna Teams, along with IRC, support reducing plastic waste in Indonesia by bringing up the campaign dubbed "Care for the Earth, Reduce Plastic". The UI teams have been using eco-friendly tires from IRC since six years ago.
"We fully support the campaign to reduce plastic waste," said Ariza from the University of Indonesia team representative in a press release received by Tempo on Tuesday, June 20.
In this campaign, it is confirmed that all IRC and Zeneos tires not using plastic wrap. "This activity is in line with the spirit of environmental preservation by IRC and Zeneos tires," said PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk. representative, Dodiyanto.
Over 80 teams from 14 countries in Asia and the Middle East will participate in Shell Eco-Marathon 2023. At least, there will be more than 50 teams from Indonesian provinces competing in the energy-efficient car race.
