TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno responded to a warning made by the 212 Brotherhood alumni (PA 212) – an organization closely affiliated to the defunct Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) – in protesting against Coldplay, which is scheduled to perform in Jakarta later in the year.
Minister Sandiaga assured the public that the popular band’s concert will not be hampered by any disruption.
“We will make sure there are no threats coming from any group as Indonesia puts forth services for guests, which is our culture and customs,” said the Minister to Tempo on Monday, May 15, 2023.
The preparations by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, according to him, have been comprehensive. Aspects that were prepared include all licenses, safety aspects, and also health. Sandiaga will also prioritize the security and safety aspects of the audience and performers.
Furthermore, Sandiaga Uno said the government will also pay attention to environmental aspects which coincides with Coldplay’s view as a band. The British band is set to hold its inaugural concert in Jakarta on November 15 at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium.
