West Java Records Highest Investment Realization in Q1 of 2023

1 May 2023 19:45 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Data provided by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), and Investment Ministry, showed that the investment realization in the West Java province for the first quarter of 2023 is the highest on a national scale, amounting to a total of Rp50 trillion.

The province is followed subsequently by Jakarta, East Java, Central Sulawesi, and Banten, according to state news agency Antara reported.

Head of the West Java One Stop Investment and Services Agency Nining Yuliastini, explained that the achievement was possible because of the solid cooperation between various stakeholders in West Java. Nining added the total investment target for West Java for 2023 is set at Rp188 trillion.

Nining explained thatin an effort to achieve the target, West Java will rely on five major investment regions, namely Bekasi City and Bekasi Regency; Bogor Regency; Karawang Regency; and Purwakarta Regency. The largest target however, is being given to Bekasi Regency with Rp50 trillion, followed by Karawang Regency at Rp40 trillion.

“These five regions are hoped to meet their targets,” said Nining.

In general, the investment realization in the country during the first quarter from January to March 2023, had reached Rp328.9 trillion, which is a 16.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Moreover, West Java also logged the highest domestic investments with Rp21.9 trillion followed by Jakarta, East Java, East Kalimantan, and Riau.

In terms of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) realization, Central Sulawesi Province recorded the highest FDI achievement, which amounted to US$ 1.9 billion, followed by West Java, Jakarta, Banten and Riau.

Investment realization in West Java was relatively balanced between FDI and domestic investments in the first three months of this year, reaching Rp 50 trillion. BPKPM also announced that investment has attracted jobs for 384,892 Indonesian workers.
