These flights are only available for two days every week, on Monday and Friday. Wings Air had previously halted its operation regularly from and to Wakatobi since July 8, 2022.
Responding to that matter, Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Agency head Belli Harli Tombili said that Wakatobi Regency disbursed a budget of Rp4 billion to re-activate flight routes in Wakatobi. “The province did not set the budget, Wakatobi did for Rp4 billion,” said Belli when contacted on Thursday.
He also welcomed the re-operation of Wings Air in Wakatobi as the regency had been named as one of the 10 priority destinations in Indonesia.
“We hope that this can be utilized by Tourism Department in Wakatob including the tour operators there to intensify promotions to visit Wakatoby Regency,” Belli remarked.
