TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono stated that the health bill could ease doctors to obtain medical licenses. The current licensing process, he opined, takes a long time and requires a lot of money. This is also similar to the registration certificate or STR process.
“It needs too many recommendations to get STR for the extension of the practice license. So the mandatory recommendations must be lessened, and the STR process will be simplified. Besides, the practice license (ISP) process will also be simplified,” said Dante in the forum on the health bill on Thursday, March 16, in Rasuna Said, Jakarta, as reported by Health Ministry’s page sehatnegeriku.kemkes.go.id.
Dantos explained a number of measures to be taken to loosen the doctor’s medical license process to be more effective and efficient.
According to him, the first step is returning the functions and duties of the regulation to the government. The second step is preparing a digital licensing scheme operated by the Health Ministry.
Dante further expressed great hope for the enactment of the health bill soon. He firmly stated that the policy which was initiated by the House of Representatives (DPR) and was included in the 2023 national legislative program (Prolegnas) could be the right offer to the issue of medical licenses which would certainly have a good impact on the health care system in Indonesia.
