17 March 2023 22:33 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Arta Kedaton Bank located in the city of Bandar Lampung in the Lampung Province unexpectedly became witness to an armed robbery on Friday, March 17, 2023. The robbery was committed by a lone gunman armed with a homemade firearm and an airsoft gun.

The Bandarlampung Police Sector Grand Commissioner Ino Harianto said that the suspect managed to injure three people in the bank; two security personnel and one bank employee.

"All of the victims have been rushed to the hospital," said Ino.

Witness testimony suggests that the robber acted alone and is currently in police custody.

The armed robbery happened as a bank employee was about to transfer money to the Arta Kedaton Makmur bank, which was guarded by security personnel. During this moment, the suspect – who is yet to be identified – pointed his firearm at the people present there and also released a couple of warning shots to the ceiling.
