TEMPO.CO, Manado - General Manager of Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado of North Sulawesi, Minggus Gandeguai, confirmed that at least ten flights were affected by bad weather.
“Poor weather disrupted flights at Sam Ratulangi Airport. Seven [flights] are delayed and three [flights] are diverted,” said Minggus in Manado, Friday, January 27, 2023.
He said rain accompanied by strong winds hit a number of areas in Manado City and its vicinity areas, which thus affected air transport activities.
The seven delayed flights were Garuda with flight number GA 601 for the Manado-Jakarta route, Batik Air ID 6271 for the Manado-Jakarta route, Citilink QG 301 for the Manado-Jakarta route, WingsAir IW 2174 for the Manado-Ternate route, WingsAir IW 1160 for the Manado-Naha route, Lion Air JT 796 on the Manado-Sorong route, and Lion Air JT 741 on the Manado-Makassar route.
While the three diverted planes were, “Batik Air ID 6274 for the Jakarta-Manado route diverted to Makassar, Citilink QG 300 for the Jakarta-Manado route diverted to Palu, and Garuda GA 600 for the Jakarta-Manado route diverted to Ternate,” Miggus outlined.
The public relations manager of Sam Ratulangi Airport, Yanti Pramono, said that although several flights were delayed, the situation at the airport remained safe. “Passengers are waiting in the waiting room and we regularly provide the latest information about flight status to passengers at the airport,” she said.
