TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian racer Sean Gelael and Italian racer Valentino Rossi have just finished the 24-hour endurance race in Dubai on Sunday, January 15, 2023. The two racers of Team WRT 46 stood in third place on the podium.
Apart from Sean Gelael and Rossi, Team WRT 46 were also strengthened by Maxime Martin (Belgium), Max Hesse (Germany), and Tim Whale (England). They reported having raced quite solidly despite experiencing several obstacles on the Dubai Autodrome track.
Maxine became the first to race at the 2023 24H Series in Dubai. Then Whale became the second to take the wheel. Even after getting nudged into a wall, the racers were able to improve the situation well and went back on track.
Sean Gelael was reported to be able to improve Team WRT 46's record time, which ranked him second. After that, Valentino Rossi served as the last to race in 24H Dubai 2023.
The large number of penalties received by Team WRT 46 led Rossi and his team to lose a lot of time. This caused them to receive third place and was 2 laps behind the runner-up.
"But Alhamdulillah (thank God), everything went smoothly. Me, Vale (Rossi), Maxime, Max, and Tim have all had an equal share in achieving this good result," said Sean as quoted by Tempo.co from the racer's official website.
Meanwhile, Rossi admitted being happy to carve a positive result at the 2023 24H Series in Dubai. He was also appointed as the team representative to be paraded to the podium while riding a camel.
"A fantastic result. I am happy and grateful to Sean and all my teammates. Also of course to Team WRT," said the MotoGP legendary racer, Rossi, as quoted from the same source.
After the 24H Dubai series ended, the racers returned to their respective roles. Sean Gelael will focus on the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), while Valentino Rossi will compete in the GT World Challenge European.
