TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono was urged to evaluate the new regulation on other individual service providers (PJLP) of the Jakarta Provincial Government. Chairman of Commission A of the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Mujiyono, recommended the evaluation of the regulation to anticipate the threat of a recession.
His recommendation consists of adding a stipulation stating that PJLP at the age of 56 years old can still be employed with several conditions. "If the performance evaluation still meets the requirements to carry out the work, then the PJLP can still be excluded," he said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday, November 27, 2022, as quoted from Antara.
On November 1, 2022, Heru Budi signed the Governor's Decree (Kepgub) Number 1095 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for Controlling the Use of PJLP. The regulation mentions the age of PJLP officers. In the attachment to the Governor's Decree, the age limit for PJLP is 18 to 56 years old.
This regulation, said Mujiyono, has caused concern among PJLPs who were over 56 years old for fear of finding it difficult to search for work elsewhere. Moreover, there is a threat of an economic recession which has an impact on contracting economic conditions in Jakarta.
"There needs to be a postponement on the implementation of this stipulation for the next year to allow PJLP to find work elsewhere," said Mujiyono.
Mujiyono hopes that Heru Budi Hartono will be more discerning in issuing the regulations so that Jakarta residents, especially the PJLPs can still survive the threat of an economic recession.
