Events in Yogyakarta Worth Visiting Over the Weekend

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta -  Yogyakarta is one of the most favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia. This weekend, November 26 to 27 November, 2022, the region has five events that are worth visiting as follows:

1. 2022 Sound of Destination 

This music festival is scheduled to be held in Sono Seneng Stage, Imogiri, Bantul Regency on Saturday, November 26, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM local time. With the natural beauty of the village and terraced rice fields, the festival combines modern genres and traditional arts. It will present a traditional music instrument show Gejog Lesung Putri Palupi and local musicians including Manifrustasi, Taksu, Larung, Efandra, and Kreesh.

2. Gathering of Daihatsu Lovers 

Centered in the Gunung Api Merapi Museum (MGM) Sleman at 9:00 AM Saturday, November 26, the event will gather 2,000 Daihatsu car lovers from various regions and exhibit 600 Daihatsu cars from new and old collections. At least 30 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and 20 food trucks will enliven the gathering as well as various competitions.

3. Horse Racing Championship Trophy Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X Cup V

Located at the Sultan Agung Racecourse, Bantul, the championship will begin on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 8 a.m. Tourists can watch the racing participated by 18 provinces, viz. North Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, NTB, NTT, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi.

4. 2022 Sibakul Sport Fest 

This Sunday’s event will be centered at the Kridosono Stadium, Yogyakarta City, combining running competition and MSME festivals. Runners will enjoy the match passing Tugu Jogja, Pasar Beringharjo, the four corners of the Kilometer Zero Point, and the Yogyakarta Palace.

5. 2022 Wild Ground Festival

The music festival will be held at Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta on Sunday, November 27, 2022. A Welsh pop punk band Neck Deep will perform there along with local musicians, including Shaggy Dog, White Shoes & Couple Company, The Adams, and others.
