TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The last day of the holding of the G20 summit will come on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. At the same time, the delegates will begin to leave Bali.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi said that Wednesday would be the peak of the departure of the heads of delegations and international organizations, especially from 14:00 to 20:00 Central Indonesian Time (WITA). The number is recorded that about 16 flights will be departing from Bali.
"For this reason, we urge passengers who will depart via I Ngurah Rai Airport during this time to pay attention and anticipate departures at the specific hours," Faik said in a statement, Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
During the time of the G20 Summit delegates' arrival in Bali, Faik stated that all processes were running normally and smoothly, including regular flight services. During November 13-14, 2022, a total of 78,190 commercial passenger movements were being served, with details of 39,799 passengers on domestic routes and 38.391 passengers on international routes.
"We are trying to be able to provide the maximum possible service, both to the handling of the G20 Summit delegates and to airport service who use regular flights," said Faik.
In preparation for the departure of the G20 summit delegates, the Ministry of Transportation coordinated with stakeholders, namely the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Airport Authority, Angkasa Pura I, Airnav Indonesia and other related parties. "Handling the departure is more complex because the hours are closer together than on arrival. For this reason, careful flight arrangements need to be prepared," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation, Novie Riyanto, Tuesday.
On Tuesday, several VVIP planes were about to depart, but not in a large number compared to on Wednesday. The timeframe for the return of state leaders and G20 delegates, both using VVIP and regular aircraft, will be on 15 - 22 November 2022.
Ngurah Rai Airport Passengers Advised to Check Flight Schedule
Regarding the process of the G20 delegates departing from Bali, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said that there is a possibility of adjusting regular flight schedules, both domestic and international, such as delays. He also appealed to the public to immediately check their flight schedule again with the respective associate airline.
"To be able to anticipate and be able to have a more comfortable flight," said Adita.
The Ministry of Transportation also appealed to airport operators and airlines to proactively provide information as clearly as possible to their customers. Starting from information on flight schedule changes, delays, cancellations, compensation, refund processes and so on.
Even so, Adita stated that his group is making the effort so that the departing of the G20 delegates would not have too much impact on regular flights. "We are trying our best to maintain smooth traffic for the delegates who attended the summit and also for the general public who fly out of and into Bali," he said.
