TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced that Inspector General Teddy Minahasa had been named a suspected violator in the drug-related case.
"Inspector General TM has been declared as a suspected violator and has been detained," said Listyo at the National Police Headquarters on Friday, October 14, 2022.
Listyo has also requested the Head of the National Police's Internal Affairs Division (Propam) to examine the newly-appointed East Java Police Chief over violation of the code of ethics. "Then we can proceed with the sanction of PTDH (disrespectful dismissal)," said Listyo.
Listyo explained that Teddy was arrested after the Jakarta Metro Police followed up and explored the case of illegal drug trafficking. "Starting from public reports, three civilians were arrested, then the case was developed and turned out a first brigadier and a commissioner were involved."
The case was further developed, "and the dealer was found out to be the former chief of Bukittinggi Police," Listyo added.
From the arrests, the police suspected the involvement of Teddy Minahasa. "On this basis, I asked the Head of the Propam this morning to arrest and question Inspector General TM," Listyore stated.
"I also ask the Metro Police Chief to continue the process of the criminal case thoroughly and develop the case further," Listyo emphasized.
