Police Say The Arrested Madiun Man Is Provider of Bjorka Telegram Channel

16 September 2022 21:00 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe National Police has confirmed that the young man from Madiun who was arrested previously is suspected to be the provider of Bjorka's Telegram channel, Bjorkanism.

The police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Ade Yaya Suryana said that the man, who is identified as MAH, 21 years old, had been arrested and named as a suspect on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Ade said MAH used the messaging platform to post information related to the data leak.

"The suspect made three posts on the @bjorkanism channel," said Ade at the National Police HQ on Friday, September 16, 2022.

The first upload was on September 8, 2022, as he wrote: "Stop Being Idiot". The second was on September 9 when he posted "the next leaks will come from the President of Indonesia". Later, the third upload was on September 10: “to support people who are struggling by holding a demonstration in Indonesia regarding the fuel price. I will publish MyPertamina database soon."

"The motive of the suspect MAH is to help Bjorka become famous and earn money," Ade explained.

During MAH's arrest, a special team seized several pieces of evidence, including one phone SIM card, two mobile phones belonging to MAH, and his ID card. However, Ade has not yet disclosed what articles will be charged to MAH because the investigation is still underway. The police also have not detained MAH.
